About

Marc & Eileen started their journey in Channel Islands Harbor, California in August of 2020, we married aboard a boat, we lived on a boat, worked on boats, fished on boats and sailed boats together for seven years prior to starting our Excellent Adventure.

Marc started his boating in Sequim, Washington thirty-five years ago with an Olympic 21’ fishing vessel, progressed to a 40’ Challenger sloop followed by Perserverance, a Spencer 53’ ketch that is actually 60’ overall with the fabrication of a davit system for solar, AB aluminum rigid inflatable and wind generator system.

Our last five years prior to departure, we were heavily involved with the Channel Islands Yacht Club where Eileen performed as House Captain and Membership Co-Chair and Marc served as House Captain, Port Captain, Director, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore and then Commodore for 2025.

This blog is a way of capturing our adventures as we sail south in February of 2026.

Initially we plan on spending time in Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, and then joining the Pacific Puddle Jump to the Marquesas and on to the South Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand.
